I don‘t even remotely resemble the Audrey I was a year ago, better yet, six months ago. My hair color isn’t even the same. Everything has changed, and I want to complain but I really can’t. I don’t want to.
Instead of complaining, I’ll just state some facts. It has been a little over a year since Nathaniel’s death, and I still love and miss him terribly. The memorial was… awful. Draining in every way, shape and form. A few accusing glances were thrown in my direction. It’s safe to say his family really didn’t want to see me there, although they did give me their condolences, I know it was forced, along with their smiles.
Recently, my own family has been changed drastically. My apartment would be completely lifeless if it wasn’t for Bryce. I encouraged Dad to let her spend the month here with me while he sorts out his problems with Gabby. My sister is in a really dark place right now, and I don’t know how I’m supposed to help her. This kind of predicament is something no one’s equipped to handle.
Today I ended- no, said that I needed a break - from a seven month relationship with my boyfriend. This change is one I’m really not looking forward to riding out. I don’t even know what I was thinking when I called us off… Honestly, I don’t know about a lot of things anymore and life isn’t letting me take a step back and process all these thoughts and changes.
Maybe this is my time to reflect.

Rummaging through her Coach bag, Audrey aimlessly felt around for her keys while she approached her apartment. The high school teacher despised coming home to a dreadfully quiet home every night. Much to her surprise and dismay, Aiden announced he got a job offer in California. In California for Christ sake. Audrey knew she was going to experience an emotion crisis. As upsetting as it was to see him leave after living together for six months, she waited for the fall but it didn’t come.
A month had passed since his departure, and they stayed in contact through emails and occasional phone calls. Money was tight, and she had to relay on her parents in order to make this months expenses. Teagan was right, she did have it good compared to other New Yorkers.
With an appreciated sigh, Audrey pulled her keys from her bag. She stopped dead in her tracks. Her jaw fell open, and her eyebrows furrowed in concern as her gaze fell onto a familiar individual whose face was brushed with a rouge tinge. The young lady has been crying, using her knuckles to wipe away her tears, Bryce approached her older sister.

3. How do you feel during the holiday season?
Exhausted. First word that comes to my mind. Isn’t the holiday season for reminiscing, and relaxing with family? It’s hectic for me, considering the fact I dance everyday for two months straight. Most nights I pull on a costume that’s already soaked with sweat from the pervious night. My knees are always aching, and I can’t complain, none of the dancers can, because the pain and sweat is everything we work for.
Not only do I have to commit myself to perform, but I have to buy gifts of everyone while rushing to make the performance in time. Relaxation isn’t in my vocabulary, and usually neither is REM sleep. I take naps, preferably on the subway ride to Radio City, but I usually catch some z’s in-between numbers. I’ve inquired a love for Teagan’s shoulder.
Hilary, A first year rookie Rockette, passed out before a show yesterday. Apparently, she was severally dehydrated, and as bad as this sounds: we’ve become immune to seeing dancers drop like flies.
All 27 of us were on the balls of our feet, blocking, and ensuing that the performance wouldn’t fall part before our eyes. It gets easier as the days turns to weeks. The throbbing in your knees go away, and the ice baths help sooth the pain. Once you step on stage you realize that it’s completely worth it.

Without fail the sun rises every morning. Audrey never put much thought into it, but it somehow amazed her. If there’s one thing anyone could be certain about it’s the fact that the rising sun would always be the first to greet the great apple. Even when your at the lowest point of your life, and didn’t want to see the sun anymore, she knew that regardless of how anyone felt it would find them. Comfort them. Comfort her.
Six days. Today would be the sixth day, Audrey would wake up before the sun, pack a lunch, and drag her exhausted arse to the hospital. A thermos of extra strong coffee resting in between her thighs as she drove; however, for the last few mornings it had been different. Noah, slippers and all, had been driving Audrey to the hospital. Her head rested against the car window while she took a few minutes to relax, maybe catch a few minutes of much needed sleep. Zoey quietly doing the same in the back seat.
Noah would wait patiently in his car, while Audrey walked through the sliding doors of the hospital. She’d turn on her heels, waving goodbye, and with a wave in return, Noah would drive away.

7.7.5 Less of a Stranger
A piece of buttered toast between her teeth, coffee cup in hand, and newspaper tucked under her armpit, a half awake Audrey dragged her slippered feet through her kitchen. Blinking several times to adjust to the harsh light, she lowered herself onto a chair. Once she was convinced she could hold herself up, she unfolded the paper, and laid it out on the table.
She rarely read the newspaper, thought it was too depressing, and ironically enough she only enjoyed the obituaries. Aiden wrote the majority of them, so it brought her a little joy to read something that her roommate put time into. Based on their pictures, and the description of their lives, Audrey would make stories about them. How they met the love of their life, when they purposed, how they enjoyed their jobs, kids, anything and everything she would make up, filling in the details.

Offer kisses to Others.
If you're feeling particularly bold or adventurous, post this in your journal, note that it's open to all, and let people ask for kisses from you. Give them at least a sentence or two in response, though--none of this "*kiss*" nonsense, that's no fun.
Week 18: Truth: Discuss a habit you would like to quit.
Going into Leon’s apartment unannounced. We’re best friends, so I figured that I could just use my key for his apartment. Yes, the key I miraculously forgot to give back when I moved out. Besides, it’ll save him the extra energy from getting off his lazy ass and answering the door. He’s never complained, but lately I managed to place ourselves in really awkward situations that could have been easily avoided if I had knocked, or at least called, instead.
For example, yesterday I walked in on him changing. When I called his name, and didn’t hear a response, so I thought just waltzing into his room would be okay. Apparently, it wasn’t. I admit, that’s not too bad, besides we used to take baths together, although I don’t remember, I do have photographic evidence. It could have been worse.
Like last week. I may be scarred for live because of this annoying habit, and the only one to blame is myself. On Thursday, I managed to walk in on him having sex. He wasn’t too thrilled about that, and neither was his partner. I didn’t recognize the female, and our introduction was nothing less then painful. Leon was embarrassed, and the brunette demanded an explanation from Leon once I finally left.
Yeah, on second thought, I’m positively giving back his keys soon.
